Third Lecure - 3rd May 2023: "Rural electrification in Amazon: challenges and case studies"
Speaker: Alessandro Trindade is professor from the Electricity Department at Federal University of Amazonas in Manaus (https://ufam.edu.br/)
The Amazon basin region is a very peculiar area of South America. It covers a huge area, has many isolated riverside communities, and suffers from a lack of roads and communication infrastructure. In this lecture, the biggest challenges for electrification will be listed, all based on three case studies in the area of the lower Rio Negro, near the city of Manaus.
