enGlobe - engineers go global

The aim of enGlobe is to increase the international visibility of Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI), to expand mobility and digital consulting services, to intensify cooperation with domestic and foreign practice partners, and to consolidate strategic university and practice partnerships. Internationalisation is institutionally anchored within the THI as a management task, there is already an above-average proportion of graduates with international experience. Nevertheless, there are areas in which the THI can develop further - such as the proportion of foreign academics at the THI, outgoings in Bachelor's degree programmes in engineering sciences and the mobility of teaching staff.

Measures within the project include digital application-oriented student projects between the THI and partner universities and partner companies in Brazil, Argentina and the USA. In addition, the THI intends to further promote the exchange of students and professors through so-called "Mini Autumn Schools" at the international partner universities. In return, regular guest lectures by professors from Brazil, Argentina and the USA will be offered at the THI.

In order to enable future engineers to spend longer periods abroad, the THI offers them scholarships for theses or internships at the practice partners in America. In return, Brazilian master's and doctoral students are offered the opportunity to write their theses or complete research internships at the CARISSMA Research and Test Centre and other THI research areas. The exchange of administrative staff at THI is also made possible by a mobility programme.

Participate

Students of THI

For bachelor students (preferably in the fields of mechatronics, electrical engineering and information technology, industrial engineering and management, automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electromobility), internships combined with scholarships are advertised once a year. They can also participate in the international digital study projects and the "Mini Autumn Schools".

Students of partner universities

Bachelor students of UFPR, UFSC, UTN and SJSU can also participate in the international digital study projects and the "Mini Autumn Schools" if they are currently being carried out with the respective partner university. Master students of UFPR and UFSC as well as PhD students of UFPR can apply for scholarships for research stays at THI every year. Find more information and calls for application here.

Teaching staff of partner universities

Teaching staff of UFPR, UFSC, UTN and SJSU can travel to THI for short stays to give guest lectures and exchange with THI teachers.

Administrative staff

Through Job Shadowing, THI employees can travel to partner universities through an enGlobe mobility programme.
