THI seminar "Innovative Road Safety Technologies" at Brazilian schools

In order to pass on the expertise of the CARISSMA team (Center of Automotive Research on Integrated Safety Systems and Measurement Area) at THI to the young population, one of Brazil's largest road traffic risk groups, the AWARE network organized information events on the topic of "Innovative road safety technologies and their use for the protection of vehicle occupants" at Brazilian schools in the course of the national road safety week 2013.

In the context of the AWARE partnership with the Department of Traffic Affairs of the State of Paraná, two THI PhD students were invited to various schools in Brazil during the National Road Safety Week 2013 to provide information on the main sources of danger in traffic and to give lectures on various safety measures. Using the example of the latest airbag technologies, socially relevant research results of the AWARE cooperation were made available to a wider audience. The objective of these lectures was to contribute directly or indirectly to the reduction of dangers on the road. The prevention courses mentioned above draw the attention of the students to various sources of danger and risk in order to strengthen the accident and risk awareness of young road users.
