Third Mission - the third pillar of a university's tasks in addition to research and teaching - includes knowledge and technology transfer (into society and economy), regional commitment and executive education offers for the population outside the classic target group of high school graduates.
In accordance with the THI mission statement, AWARE is committed to the regional environment in both Bavaria and Latin America. In both regions we support international research as well as international and interdisciplinary cooperation by establishing and expanding functioning, resilient networks. In this way, we give students, teaching staff and researchers at universities and in companies the opportunity to exchange ideas across borders and thus to pass on their knowledge.
We have dedicated our second AWARE publication primarily to the topic of Third Mission and show in it how all partners involved in AWARE at the time of publication contribute their share to the transfer of knowledge and research findings.
