NEW: FAPESP und THI - Seed Fund Call 2024
THI and FAPESP (São Paulo Research Foundation) are pleased to receive applications for a Seed Fund Call for Proposals 2024.
The aim of the Call is to initiate research collaborations and deepen already established research connections between researchers from the state of Sao Paulo and from THI under two distinct funding tracks.
The topics focus on the three research specializations "Vehicle Safety and Innovative Mobility", "Artificial Intelligence" and "Renewable Energies", where THI is represented on the HRK (German Rectors' Conference) research map.
Activities pursued under this Call are expected to have benefits beyond the duration of the award, e.g. establishing long-term international collaborations, self-sustaining activities and/or developing high-impact knowledge and technologies.

Individual scholarships for active participation in international conferences and trade fairs abroad for
- Master and diploma students of the HAWs / FHs (diploma students: from the 4th year of study)
- PhD students of the HAWs / FHs (in independent or cooperative doctoral procedures)
- and members of the teaching and research staff of HAWs / FHs
Announcements: 3x per year
Promotes the establishment of contacts between German university teachers and potential foreign cooperation partners in DAC countries. The goal is to realize a long-term cooperation through preparatory trips.

Promotion of foreign guest lecturers for teaching activities at German universities

Individual scholarships for semester stays, theses and internships for students of all disciplines in bachelor, master and diploma programs at German HAW/FH.

FAPESP THI Seed Fund
Objective: To initiate research collaborations and deepen existing research links between researchers from the state of Sao Paulo and the THI.
The topics are centred on the three main research areas of ‘Vehicle Safety and Innovative Mobility’, ‘Artificial Intelligence’ and ‘Renewable Energies’.
The activities carried out under this call should be of benefit beyond the duration of the funding, e.g. through the establishment of long-term international collaborations, self-sustaining activities and/or the development of high-impact technologies.
Mobility and exchange activities (e.g. travelling and workshops) as well as the costs of exploratory studies will be supported.
Research developed in collaboration with industry is particularly desirable and benefits from the innovation environment at THI.- Humboldt Research Fellowship
6–24-month research stay in Germany for postdoctoral researchers, experienced researchers from all countries (excluding Germany)
The Selection Committee meets every March, July and November. Applications are usually processed within four to eight months. If your application is successful, you may begin your fellowship between two and twelve months after being selected.

Mobility and short-term stays to exchange university staff for research projects

Development of joint research proposals between FAPESP (State of São Paulo) and Germany for up to three years of project duration

International Research Training Groups provide opportunities for joint doctoral training programmes between German universities and universities abroad. The research and study programmes are jointly developed and supervised. Doctoral students in the programme complete a six-month research stay at the respective partner institution.

Bavarian funding program for the initiation of international research collaborations

BAYLAT supports the exchange between Bavaria and Latin America with several own support programs.
CORNET is a network of ministries and funding agencies that combine their existing funding schemes to increase the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Consortium: at least 5 SMEs, 1 SME organization or group and 1 research organization of each country (e.g. Germany-Brazil)
Eligible for funding:
Germany: members of AiF e.V. only
Brazil: Brazilian companies registered with CNPJ and industrial CNAE number
Partner network of IraSME
Announcements: 2x per year by the end of March and September
Funding opportunities in the network IraSME together with partners of EMBRAPII. Eligible for application: Brazilian and international commercial companies of all sizes, including start-ups, which have their operations in Brazil

Partner network of CORNET
12-month project in Germany for university graduates with initial leadership experience from Brazil, China, India, Russia, South Africa, USA
Applications are accepted from 15 March to 15 October of each year. The project starts in July/August of the following year.
