THI delegation visiting Directory of the Technology Sector of Federal University of Paraná in Curitiba

THI President Professor Walter Schober traveled to South America with a delegation from the AWARE Center to further expand cooperation with local universities. Established ten years ago, the AWARE network at THI brings university and industry projects into contact with partners from Bavaria and Latin America.

The goal is clear: to find innovative ways to promote applied AI and mobility research between South America and Bavaria. To this end, THI wants to bring together the brightest minds from science and industry - regionally and internationally. During a week-long trip to South America, which included stops in São Paulo and Buenos Aires, the Ingolstadt delegation developed concepts for even closer cooperation with their long-standing South American partners. "I am delighted that we have now brought over 400 scientists between South America and Ingolstadt to exchange ideas. South America is a strategic partner for us for international teaching and research due to its good education system and cultural proximity," emphasized THI President Schober.

International research networks and interdisciplinary cooperation have become indispensable for the development of tomorrow's key technologies. Since 2010, THI has established a comprehensive strategic network (Applied NetWork on Automotive Research and Education) with the best Latin American universities and other industry and research partners. This formed the basis for the AWARE Center, which was opened in 2020. As a strongly application and technology-oriented center, it provides its services to a community of academic and industrial partners in Bavaria and Latin America.
