Angelo's Research Stay at THI

1. enGlobe experience
My name is Angelo, I lived in Ingolstadt for six months, one of the best experiences I have ever had the opportunity to embrace in my life. From the first day I felt at home, the city is small and the people are very friendly and polite.
I lived in a student house with 12 other people, each from a different corner of the world. Among them, there were some from South America, Asia and Europe. I had the opportunity to experience and know different cultures, and to build great friendships that I am sure I will take with me for life.
Certainly living in Ingolstadt did not bring any difficulties, the cost of living is a little high but equivalent to the quality of life. Living in the center you can go to the market, city hall, bank, post office and find anything you need for your day within a 5 minute walk.
The differences with Brazil are immense, it is hard to describe. In the first month of my stay I was already impressed with how organized and safe it is possible to be in Ingolstadt. For me the biggest difference was the food, which I missed most from my home country.
One of the things that brought me a little bit of trouble was in relation to the registration in the city, which took longer than usual delaying the receipt of the scholarship, because I could not open an account at the bank before getting the registration. I advise everyone to check all the documents and what they need to live in Germany very carefully, at least 1 month in advance. It is possible to open a bank account online and to buy a cell phone chip at the market without the need to register, but I only found this out after I registered.
I recommend to everyone who has the opportunity to participate in this program or any other that offers you the opportunity to live in Germany, that you go without thinking twice, and make the most of everything, it will be an experience that will add values and knowledge in your life.

2. My research at THI
My research was developed under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ondrej Vaculin and his student M.Sc. Franz Plaschkies from THI and Prof. Dr. Pablo Jaskowiak from UFSC. The project was not completed in February, but we continued it for the months of March and April 2021, with the intention of participating in some conferences.
