Volvo Group

The Swedish manufacturer of commercial vehicles has had a Brazilian subsidiary, Volvo do Brasil Veículos Ltda, in Curitiba, Paraná, since the 1970s, which is currently one of the largest commercial vehicle manufacturers in Latin America. In 2020, the Group is strengthening its presence in the largest Latin American country with substantial new investments of around €23 million to develop new products and drive forward modernization at the Curitiba plant (Brazil). Cooperation with local universities such as UFPR, a strategic partner in the AWARE network, is also a key concern of the Group. Volvo has been supporting the AWARE network since 2018 through close project cooperation in the AIM funding project. In addition, the doors of the network are always open for company visits and student exchanges.
